I have a showcase to get an agent and I have to fill out these forms. What exactly are they asking when it says this:
Sizes:
Blouse/Shirt:
Dress/Coat:
Pants:
Shoes: (I know this one, lol)
Unions:
Thanks!!
How do you fill out measurements for acting submission forms?
Well, they want to know your size. Sometimes, roles that aren't vital are cast according to size of the costume (Gasp, horrors!) depending on the type of the show or role. Disney casts its fur characters primarily based on height and body build. Height is asked because casting directors forget when trying to match actors up for a role.
Sometimes, I have been in a casting sessions where we actually matched the photographs side by side to determine if the romantic leads look good together. We use the height information on the actor's resume to use as a reference.
Unions are usually Actors Equity Association (AEA), Screen Actors Guild (SAG), American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). This allows the agent to determine what kinds of auditions and jobs to submit you for, Different kinds of projects have different union rules they must follow.
Break a leg!
Reply:As your mother. She knows. blouse or shirt, by bust or collar and sleeve
dress or coat, what size do you buy?
pants the size you buy or waist and inseam
If you do not belone to an actor's union, enter 'none'.
Reply:sizes: put the clothing size you wear
blouse/shirt: shirt size (xs, s, m, l)
Dress /coat: put the size you wear in dresses
pants: put your pants size
You can just go into your closet and take a look at the tags on most of your clothes or ask a parent to help you.
Reply:-Sizes are basic, you can probably figure these out from the size of clothes you wear (XXS-XXL)
-Blouse/Shirt: Usually either the size shirt you wear or your neck size.
Dress/Coat: Size dress you wear (Usually about your pant size, maybe a little bigger)
-Pants: 0-14 is for women's pants, 6-16 for girls.
-Unions are only for actors and you should probably just put none/leave it blank. Once you're more experienced, you may work in a union film like Screen Actors Guild (SAG) or AFTRA. So for now, don't worry about that.
Good luck! Hope everything works out!
Reply:If they ask for SIZES, they want the NUMBER size you'd typically buy at a store. Words like "small", "medium", etc. are NOT helpful. If you're a child, teen, or woman, it would be numbers like 2, 6, 9 Petite, 16, etc. (for blouse, dress, and pants), and if you're an adult male, it would be numbers like 38R, 40L (coat chest measurement and length), 32/33 (pants waist/length), 15.5/33 (shirt neck/sleeve length).
Women's sizes are coded, while men's are based upon their actual measurements. You can just use the numbers out of the back of DRESS CLOTHING that FITS YOU PROPERLY. If it's too baggy or too tight, it won't be helpful. Or, ask someone to measure your bust, waist, and hips (in inches) with a measuring tape, and look up on a clothing store's standard sizes chart to see which size you are. A lot of women and girls are a different size on the top than on the bottom. Men and boys tend to not differ too much because they are less curvy.
People's sizes change over time, but this gives casting directors a basic idea of your body type and size, which can be very important in some roles. Update the information when your body changes significantly, and whatever you do, DON'T LIE. Wardrobe will usually contact you after you've been hired to get more detailed and current information.

What is the best way to clean the foot pad of sandles?
I bought a pair of used Birkenstock sandles (online auction)and the foot area is black. Before I throw them away, I thought I would ask if anyone knows a good cleaning agent to use on these sandles.. The straps are leather, don't know what the foot pad is, but below it is cork and then rubber. These are expensive shoes, but I won't put my foot on them in this condition.
What is the best way to clean the foot pad of sandles?
You could try saddle soap and then dry them in the sun. That should kill germs too.
Reply:Use Birkenstock Footbed Cleaner (available only in the Birkenstock Deluxe Shoe Care Kit) to prolong the life of your footwear. This special formula penetrates the footbed to remove odors, dirt, oils, and perspiration. Please note: although we buy only the highest quality leather and test it for colorfastness, dyed leathers will sometimes shed their color. Please be very careful with delicate or light colored socks, especially when your footwear is new! You can also use Birkenstock Leather Protector to minimize dark leather footbed liners from shedding their color.
Reply:Febreeze and a stiff wire brush. Worked for me!

In espionage and secret agents .?
In espionage and secret agents, some agents hid little cameras inside the heels of their shoes...but does anyone know how little these cameras were?
In espionage and secret agents .?
Cameras are not hidden in shoes because they offer no proper viewing angle.
Their size is growing smaller as time goes bye... from huge cameras used in early 20th century (because of the lenses) to the little Minox of Japanese make in WW2 spying affairs. The minox could be held inside a palm of the hand and was installed in various containers like ladies bags, Brief Cases, front pockets of jackets etc.
Todays Cams are very small and store the pictures digitally (no film cassets and rolling engine or moving parts).
Still one must differ the cams used for short distance and documents and Scenary cams for long distance who need optical lenses of considerable size (diameter and length... still why not hide them in a car or motorbike or small plane ???
Reply:I am not certain of exactly which cameras that they used, but I remember in my days in covert investigations with Security Intelligence Agency (late '80's), we had full color cameras that went as small as the size of a dime... And that was before the newer electronic chip cameras were prevalent. The real challenge was in how to conceal the batteries and data storage. Today's micro cameras can get as small as just a few millimeters on their largest side. Battery technology has advaced exponentially, as well. Some power sources are only about the size of a grain of rice (they don't last long, though, say about a half hour). I still have access to some of these toys, too.

How formal do I need to dress as a real estate agent?
I am starting as a real estate agent next week and really want to rock my new job. It seems like many of the agents I meet wear suits. Do I need to wear pant and skirt suits when I am meeting clients? I assume this means closed toed shoes and hose as well.
How formal do I need to dress as a real estate agent?
Real Estate is LOCAL %26amp; it is different depending on the clients you market to. Meaning that what is acceptable and the "norm" in one area may be completely different in another.
Also, just because everyone else is doing one thing doesn't mean it's the "right" way.
Most of the 30 some odd agents in our office wear either suits, or Golf shirts and slacks type of attire...except the top 3 agents (one of whom is the broker).
We all wear Shorts and Flip Flops most of the time.
Most of my clients are pretty laid back, even my high end homeowners, so I can stay laid back. I got a lot of flack when I first got my license because I wasn't FORMAL, but after I closed more deals than anyone my first few months in, everyone got quiet.
On first time visits with Out of State Clients, who may not be Austin laid back, I sell out, I dress in slacks and golf shirt...for the first visit.
Know your area and dress according to your area %26amp; your clientele.
Reply:Yes to all the clothing you have mentioned. Realtors should look their best and look professional. Look at what the other Realtors in your office are wearing and follow their lead.
Reply:I dress up the first time I meet a new client. Then as I get to know them I dress as they do. If they are always in flip flops and jeans I dress down. If they're always in skirts and pearls I dress up. I work with a woman who sells a lot of country property and she goes to meet clients in cowboy boots and jeans because she's tromping through mud half the time.
As a rule, if I'm in the office doing paperwork I dress business casual. If I'm meeting clients or going to the MLS meetings I dress more formally.
I wouldn't wear hose if you paid me though!!! ; )
Reply:In meetings with clients, I would recommend a suit. Business casual if you are going out looking at homes in the field.
For closings and open houses, always a suit.
Nice dress sandles/pumps/open toe are fine, and you don't necessarily need to wear hose if you have nice color to your legs and keep them shaved and toes manicured. It gets hot getting in and out of a car in the summer...but it might be a good idea for winter.
If you are going to visit new construction, wear nice khakis and keep a pair of mud boots in your car....that will prevent you from ruining you shoes in the mud (3 guesses of how I learned that one).
Also, here is my agent survival kit that I keep in a box:
1 box of Kleenex (you never know when there will be no toilet paper and some kid just has to go).
1 plastic bucket (nothing stinks more than a house where someone has peed in the toilet and there is no water to flush it...you can get the water from a neighbor).
1 box of cheap garbage bags (for muddy shoes)
Hand sanitizer
Lysol (good for a variety of things)
Box of baby wipes in a box
1 Roll of paper towels
Camera batteries (for listings...if your camera dies)
Always, Always a blank copy of every conceiveable contract in a file folder...I liked mine pre-printed, but you can always write one on the spot if you need to).
Extra calculator, pens, white-out, etc.
I wish you the best of luck!
Reply:I think the key is to remain professional. You can wear suits without them being high waisted in funky colors. You can find great, stylish suits at stores like The Limited, Express, Ann Taylor, and Dillard's. You don't have to wear closed toe shoes all the time. Peep toe shoes are totally acceptable. Just avoid shoes that are overly strappy and show too much of your foot. Pantyhose are not necessary either. Bare legs and feet are much more accepted now. But if you want a cleaner look on your foot you can wear trouser socks with your pant suits. It would be more comfortable than full pantyhose.
The key is to remain professional and that includes much more beyond your clothes. Keep your makeup to a minimum and keep the accessories simple too so they don't distract from your face and what you are saying.
Your overall appearance will only add (or detract) to your credibility as an agent. The right look will make you look professional, intelligent, credible, and trustworthy. Best of luck with your new job.
Reply:Formal but not to formal is the answer. You want to look nice but not like a show off, like at any job. You also want to be a little comfy and not make the seller\buyer feel too dressed up or not dressy enough. Good luck with the new job!
Reply:Go with the flow...
Reply:If you want to be taken seriously, you should wear a pant and/or skirt suit. According to a study that I heard about you will need to wear some makeup as well. Wear hose and closed toe shoes, especially if you look younger than your age.
Reply:In 95 degree weather, if you wear pantyhose someone will have to pick you up off the ground.
For first time meeting clients (and staff meetings) wear short sleeves, but not sleeveless. No cut out clothes. You never know who you may be giving your business card to.
Whatever you do, do not go into an empty house with a stranger. Have a senior agent go with you whenever possible.
And remember, the greatest tribute you can pay a client is to listen more than you talk.
Reply:what you wear is just half the battle.
the tips of stuff to keep in your car is more pratical than what you should wear.
but i will tell you this much. i went to an open house in an area of detroit that is being 'revitalized' meaning
there are five expensive houses surrounded by dilapitated houses that used to be mansions
and
crack heads.
anyway. i was just curious to see what the deal was with these 'new houses'
they were duplexes, they looked like project housing one trifilng tennant away from being boarded up.
and,
the interior was a nightmare. they had gone to some euro trash furniture store and decorated it in garish yellow and red with furniture that you'd hurt yourself on if you sat on it. it was the worst 'staging' id ever seen.
but the women showing the home had on clothes that were too small, and they were serving horsdourves they'd made themselves. (if you don't know how to apply makeup stay away from it!)
i acutally felt sorry for them. and there was not way i could ever see myself handing over four hundred fifty thousand dollars to them. ever.
so
i advise that you look like you deserve their money.
now. that might mean a pants suit or jeans with great boots and an expensive knock off designer purse or
maybe its a black suit white shirt uniform (its okay to stick to one or two colors that can be your work basics. that way you always know what you are going to wear)
but whatever you do,dress like
you deserve to handle their transaction.
Reply:Professional especially if you look young. Dress like you think a banker or accountant would dress. You are dealing with people who are dealing with huge amounts of money link conservative and professional. Mid quality not cheap but not looking like you got rich off people like them and don't need the commission. Business casual for days you are just showing houses. Business casual doesn't mean jeans but may mean a dress instead of a suit or losing the tie or jacket. Also never try to be the least bit sexy, men may get the wrong idea and nobody would trust or respect you as a professional.

What would you do if you were in my shoes?
Here is the situation....
Our house has been on the market for almost six weeks now, with not one looker! We are building our dream home on 46.5 acres we purchased. While we can swing two payments for a little while, it will put a crunch on us. What would you do? Would you rent your house you are trying to sell? Get a different agent...mine is my sis-n-law ( I know, tell me about it!). She is okay I guess, but she knows everything, if I have an idea she knocks it down. She just won't listen. I am even helping pay for some of our advertising. My mom was in real estate for 20+ years so I am not dumb to the business. Our house is clean and neat, and from what others have said reasonalby priced. Please help with suggestions.
What would you do if you were in my shoes?
I'd buy new shoes. ;-)
Change agents. The only thing worse than having your house on the market for 6 weeks with an agent that isn't working with you is to have it on the market 6 weeks and one day with an agent that isn't working with you.
No hard feelings, going to work with someone local, thanks for everything, and try to smile sincerely. That way everyone can be civil at the family gatherings.
We are coming into the slow season and if it doesn't get a buyer within the next month or so, you are probably stuck with it until after the holidays.
Good luck to you!
Reply:Your agent is an idiot. Get a new one.
Reply:Selling your home is not the time to make friends...it's a BUSINESS decision...if you think she is knocking the home then she probably is.
Get another Realtor. I can understand no offers in 6 weeks in this market, but no lookers? Something's wrong.
Reply:Before I decided to rent, I'd go with another agent. Just see if it gets you anywhere. Renting is a scary thing, who knows WHO you may end up with in your home (ever seen the movie Pacific Heights with Michael Keaton ,SCARY). Try listing it with a different agent, could be because she's family, she may be a little more relaxed and not pursuing it like she should be.
Good luck, Lynn
Reply:Sorry time to dump the sis-in-law. If you can only hold your current house for a little while don't rent it out. You need one of the top producers in your area and sell the house fast -
Tenants will not show the house as nicely as you do - this will effect the selling price or the time it takes to sell. If on the other hand you can keep the orginal house as an investment property that you can rent out - then drop the listing and rent it out. - Don't forget to screen tenants carefully use a free service like www.bad-tenat.org
Reply:the samething happen to me, so i just rented it and it rented quick, before that i changed agents and that does not work so don't do that
Reply:Fire the sis n law, sell the property at a 35% discount, and don;t look back.
Reply:Why would you want to rent the house and end up with a bigger problem in a year. The market is going down not up. I suggest lowering the price 5% every two weeks until it sells. Then take your equity and put it in something that is appreciating.
Reply:First I would get a construction loan that doesn't have payments to make until the house is built and finished.
You should only have your house payment while building.
Then I would rent it out after moving into the new home if it will cover my expenses or close to it.
You sis in law is taking advantage of you......listing but expecting to do nothing and get the commission.
Sounds like her broker isnt willing to let your contract with them go if his resolution would be to assign you to another agent.
Good Luck

Reply:In this market you can't hope to sell if you are fairly priced. Six months ago if there were 10 houses priced like yours there would be 15 buyrs so no problem selling. Now, though, you probably have 20 houses priced like yours with only 10 buyers.
You not only have to look at your house, but look at all the other houses that are similar to yours in price and size and location. If you are one of 20, then you are just another house in the crowd. the ones that are going to be seen first are the ones that have a "Wow" factor. It is either the most dazzling house on the market, or it is priced better than any other. If that happens people will look and make offers.
If the best thing you can say is that it is clean and neat and people say it is priced all right, for me that is screaming "NOTHING SPECIAL HERE" if you need a timely sale. You either need to do something to really schnazz up the house, or drop the price, so that people will sit up and take notice.
First, don't just drop the price blind. Get your sis-n-law to run up all the houses like yours now on the market. Go visit them. See what they have that yours doesn't. Then figure a way to make your house a clearly better deal then all the others - a better price - better terms - or a knock-down-dead, Better-Homes%26amp;Gardens display.
Then you'll sell fairly quickly. Good luck
Reply:With the market in a downswing I would opt to rent for at least a year. Why undersell the property if you can rent it until the value goes back up? That is if you can easily rent it.
Reply:A property is simply a commodity. If it is at the right price, it sells. Some states let you pay the selling broker a little extra cash under the table, like say $1K following the sale. Some do not. If your property isn't selling, it's either too expensive or your broker isn't sharing the listing, trying to take both ends of the transaction. I'd dump her butt and hire someone who will work for you, not take advantage of you. When will people learn? There is no room for family in business.
Sooner or later, things don't work out, and you have unavoidable problems that LAST.
Reply:right now the market sucks. i would do a rent to own option. that would help elviate some of the stress.
Reply:first of all...this is all business. AND you need to tell that to her with your husband there.
this is YOUR HOUSE, YOUR CREDIT, your income, YOUR LIFE.....most realtors are OPEN to ideas...especially if it wont kill the deal.
Another thing is that you have to look at how long the contract is for. If it's going to expire then tell her that you dont plan on renewing with her.
You are the boss....dont play games especially when you're DOING HER a favor.
Reply:have you had open houses? My friend is trying to sell her house and it has been on the market for a while and some lookers and no buyers. Apparently you know some things about real estate and selling it but that is the only thing that I can think of. You have probably already thought of this but if not I hope it helps. Good luck selling you house!

Good luck selling you house!

if they are manufactured in the USA, then they are probably too expensive to sell in South America - the standard of living in a lot of those countries is well below the US's

Some soles of shoes are slippery/slick to surfaces. Is there an agent you can spray/coat to prevent slippage.
I have a pair of shoes that I sometimes wear that has slick/slippery soles. Some surfaces I walk on, mainly waxed or smooth floors, causes the shoe(s) to slide while I am walking causing me to have to catch myself to prevent falling. Is there something that can be pre-apply to the soles to prevent this from happening.

You can put these sticky sandpapery things on the bottom of your shoes you can buy them at Rackroom i think. Also you can put that white tape on your shoes and it keeps them from being slick.
Reply:scuff the soles with sandpaper, it will give them some grip
Reply:The only thing I know is to use the shower appliques that keep you from slipping in the shower for your shoes I read it in a magazine a long time ago but have never tried it.

To Raptor Fans, put yourseltf in Bryan Colangelo's shoes, which free agent would you take and why?
The Raptors obviously have many problems that need to be addressed. There are a lot of good free agents out there. Who you you take to address some of the problems (rebounding, consistant 2nd scorer etc.)
To Raptor Fans, put yourseltf in Bryan Colangelo's shoes, which free agent would you take and why?
I live in Toronto and am a huge Raptors fan. I think the Raptors should decide not to resign Primoz Brezec and waive Joey Graham. They can then sign a player such as Josh Smith who is a restricted free agent this summer. Smith could be our starting small forward. He is a pretty good scorer and great rebounder and shot blocker.
Reply:They need a true inside presence. I would try to get Chris Kanman, since he is the only one that's availible.

What kind of shoes/footwear do Secret Service agents wear?
Are agents on Protective Detail wearing normal dress shoes, or are they rocking boots? I would think that dress shoes would be more appropriate for their suits, but they wouldnt give the necessary support in case they need to start running. Riddle me this.
What kind of shoes/footwear do Secret Service agents wear?
They wear those fluffy pink bedroom bunnys
Reply:Footwear by the Bates co.

Secret service are so secretive they wear the same sunglasses and shoes so only them can tell them apart... Shhhh
Reply:Surprisingly enough just your normal dress shoes. You can run fairly well in them, and the SS would most likely have agents all over so a lengthy foot pursuit would be most unusual.
Reply:They wear those black athletic shoes from Wal-Mart.
