Who is the Elohim?
The plural Elohim and the translated into english "we" of the Bible and Quran is a grammatical concept that is used in these languages to denote, power, strength and omnipotence. The grammatical concept is called "The Royal We", which is in fact singular but said in a plural manner to show the position that is held. It is also called "pluralis majestatis".

Reply:The question is worded wrongly. Elohim is plural. Hebrew pluralizes by adding an -im to whatever the word is. Other examples are cherubim from cherub and seraphim from seraph. So it should say "What are the Elohim?"
Reply:It's another name for God. The God of Israel. The God of Abraham. The God of the Bible.

Reply:Eli means God, and Elohim, (eloheem), means more than one god. The same as the We in the Qur'an. The God we don't understand in the Old Writings were the Powers and Principalities. That is just an expression to show there is a government in Heaven. And they are not all perfect.


They do Gods will in that God allows them to be in positions of authority. But God doesn't give them orders all the time. They make their own decisions and take actions. The Bible says God will punish the Hosts of Heaven too. Or those who were self-serving.

Edit to add: Elohim is plural and singular at the same time. You could say it is a singular plural noun.
Reply:just to clear this up, elohim means "our god" not "god." judaism never has no will it ever be polytheistic. it's plural because of the "our"
